Chicken feet adobo is a type of Filipino dish that consists of chicken feet cooked in a mixture of soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and other spices. It is typically served with steamed white rice. Because of the added catsup, the sauce is rich and flavorful. The whole family will surely love it!
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- 1 kg chicken feet
- 1 cup vinegar
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup banana catsup
- 1 pc medium garlic, mined
- 2 red chili pepper, chopped
- 1 tsp whole peppercorns
- 3 pcs bay leaves
- 2 tbsp sugar, adjust accordingly
- 4-6 cups water
- cooking oil
Cooking Procedures:
Step 1
Clean the chicken feet and put them in a pot.
Step 2
Add water, vinegar, soy sauce, bay leaves, peppercorns, and garlic. Reserve some garlic for sautéing later.
Step 3
Put on the stove and turn on the heat. Simmer until the chicken feet are tender. When done, separate the chicken feet from the stock/liquid. Do not dispose of the stock as you will need it later.
Step 4
Heat cooking oil in a large pan or wok. Sauté some garlic until fragrant.
Step 5
Add the chicken feet and about 2-3 cups of the stock.
Step 6
Add the catsup, red chili, and sugar. Stir and bring to a boil.
Step 7
Taste the sauce then add some salt if needed. Continue to boil until the sauce becomes thick and reduced.
Step 8
Serve with steamed white rice and enjoy your spicy chicken feet adobo!
