How to Make Crema de Leche ala Mang Inasal

Learn how to make Mang Inasal’s delicious Crema de Leche dessert at home!

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • 1 1/2 cups macapuno string in syrup (ready-to-serve, you can buy a jar of this at grocery stores)
  • 1 llanera leche flan (regular size), thinly sliced
  • 3 cups crushed ice
  • 1 big can evaporated milk
  • 1 bunch (piling) saging na saba, sliced into small pieces
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla


Cooking Procedures:

Step 1

First, make the sweetened saba- In a pot, put water, brown sugar, and vanilla. Stir. Add the sliced saba. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes in a medium-low fire. Remove from heat then set aside.

Step 2

In a serving bowl, put 1 cup of crushed ice. Add 1/2 cup macapuno string, 5 tbsp sweetened saba, and 3 thin slices of leche plan.

Step 3

Pour a generous amount of evaporated milk.

Step 4

Repeat steps 2 & 3 to make 3 servings.

Step 5

Serve immediately and enjoy your Crema de Leche ala Mang Inasal!
