Forget everything you know about traditional Italian spaghetti—Filipino-style spaghetti is a whole new adventure on your plate! With its signature sweet tomato sauce, juicy hotdog slices, and a generous sprinkle of cheese, this is the ultimate dish for birthdays, fiestas, and family gatherings.
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- 1 kg spaghetti pasta
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pc medium onion, minced
- 1 pc red bell pepper, minced
- ¼ kg ground pork
- 2 pcs hotdog, sliced
- 1 pack tomato paste (70g)
- 1 pack Filipino-Style tomato sauce (90g)
- 1 pack banana catsup (100g)
- ¼ cup white sugar
- 1 pack cheese, grated
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1 cup water
- 3 tbsp cooking oil
Cooking Procedures:
Step 1
Cook the spaghetti pasta according to the instructions on the packaging. Set aside.
Step 2
Heat cooking oil in a pan. Fry the sliced hotdogs. Remove from the pan when done. Set aside.
Step 3
In the same pan, add onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Sauté until fragrant.
Step 4
Add the ground pork. Cook until light brown.
Step 5
Add the tomato paste, tomato sauce, banana catsup, sugar, water, salt, and pepper. Stir occasionally and bring to a boil.
Step 6
Add the fried hotdogs and vinegar. Stir then turn off the heat.
Step 7
Serve the pasta with sauce. Top with grated cheese. Enjoy your Filipino Style Spaghetti!
