Egg salad is a simple dish made from hard-boiled eggs, mayonnaise, mustard, and other mix-ins like onion, garlic, and basil. It’s a great option for a light lunch or dinner, or can be served as an appetizer or snack. The best egg salads are creamy, flavorful, and a little bit chunky.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • 8 hard-boiled eggs
  • ½ cup red sweet onions, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced finely
  • 1 ½ tsp fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup fresh basil ( cut into strips )


Cooking Procedures:

Step 1

Boil the eggs for 10 minutes to achieve fully hard-boiled eggs.

Step 2

After boiling the eggs, chill them in ice water for 5 minutes. Peel off the shells and chop the eggs.

Step 3

In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped eggs and the remaining ingredients together.

Step 4

Serve egg salad on toasted bread, crackers, lettuce leaves, or in a sandwich. It’s also delicious with a side of potato chips or fresh veggies like cucumbers, carrots, or bell peppers. Enjoy!
