Chicken and Pork Pochero is a hearty and flavorful Filipino stew usually made with a mix of chicken and pork, as well as a variety of vegetables. The dish is usually served with a savory sauce and steamed white rice.
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- 500g chicken, cut into serving pieces
- 400g pork, cut into serving pieces
- 6 cups water
- 2 pcs Knorr chicken cubes
- 1 can tomato sauce (250 grams)
- 1 pc medium onion, sliced
- 2 pcs medium potatoes, cut into chunks
- 3 pcs saba bananas, sliced diagonally
- 1/3 cup canned garbanzos, drained and skins removed
- 1 pc Chorizo de Bilbao, sliced
- 1 bundle pechay
Cooking Procedures:
Step 1
Boil the pork and chicken together in water with the chicken cubes.
Step 2
Add the tomato sauce, onion, potatoes, bananas, garbanzos, and chorizo (put the chorizo last). Cook slowly over low heat until potatoes are tender.
Step 3
Add the pechay then remove from heat.
Step 4
Serve and enjoy your chicken and pork pochero!
